Bill Maston
Principal Architect

Bill Maston is a local licensed architect who has lived in the Mountain View and Los Altos area for over 50 years. He is the Principal of William Maston Architect & Associates, a firm that specializes in single family residential, select multi-family residential and select commercial retail projects. Bill also has a strong background in site design and master plan projects. This background has proved very effective in designing complicated hillside projects, planned unit developments and site-specific master plans. Mr. Maston's primary focus still remains in the single family residence, new construction and remodel areas.

Bill holds architectural licenses in California (1987), Nevada (1989) and is registered with the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) since 1989, and is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s School of Architecture (1980).

Bill has been actively involved in the community since opening his office in 1989. His involvement includes:

Bill's involvement in these community service efforts has not only given him strong connections in the community, but provided him with a clear understanding of what is necessary to build consensus on City planning and zoning issues as well as fashioning visions for each community's future. These principles are applied to individual client projects as well.

Denise Delano Forbes
Senior Architect

Denise Forbes is a licensed Architect and has been working in the architectural field since she graduated in Architecture from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1979. Though most of the work she did while living in her native Canada was institutional, she has been able to round out her experience with over 30 years of practice in California. Receiving her California architect's license in 1993, Denise has worked for several local architecture firms since her arrival in the bay area in 1983. She also ran her own business from a home office for a few years while raising her daughter. Denise is a senior architect with William Maston Architects and has worked with the firm since 1996. Denise works as a project manager and helps oversee the day to day operations of the firm. Private interests include horticulture, animals, roller derby, skiing & costuming.

 

Leah Alissa Bayer
Project Manager & Scheduler

Leah has worked as a Project Manager and the Master Scheduler at WMAA since August 2014, hitting the ground running shortly after graduating from Cal Poly, SLO with a Bachelors of Architecture and 4 years of coursework in both Structural Engineering and Fine Arts. With over 10 years of management experience in diverse industries, Leah enjoys master coordination and helping a team realize the bigger pictures. Her design preference lies in the research and application of sustainable principles and materials for projects of all sizes – developing biologically inspired, complex systems within simple and refined architectural solutions. Leah has recently received her Architect License and holds several certificates and certifications in LEED GA, Autodesk Building Performance Analyst (BPA), Autodesk Revit Certified Professional. Her professional memberships include AIA, USGBC, & NCARB.

Leah is a published writer as well. Some of her pieces can be found in Forbes, Inc., NCARB, Huffington Post and more. She does architectural research with the intent to publish/speak and has recently been invited to speak at the 2017 Starship Congress in Monterey for her research on space architecture and alternative materials.

She also has a long history of volunteer work with several fantastic organizations in her “spare” time including the National Charity League, Student Mentor, Habitat, Rebuilding, and is currently the Publicist for Women In Architecture Silicon Valley (WIA).

 

Mauricio Flores
Job Captain

Mauricio has worked in various aspects of the built environment industry for 16 years. Although he’s known he’s wanted to be an architect from a very young age wanting to build his mom a house, he started with landscape architecture to get a feel for the work. Since then, he’s worked on various design-build projects in the construction industry and architectural firms. His most notable project was to be on the team that designed the headquarters for Specialized Bicycles. Mauricio involvement in leadership has placed him on the board of the AIASCV as a student liaison to West Valley as Chapter president and named as one of 2010 President’s Award recipients. In his spare time, he loves to learn and practice art as those are his passions in life.

 

Priya Arora
Architectural Designer

Priya has worked at WMAA as a Job Captain since March 2016 and brings with her a diverse experience in hospitality, mixed use, and planning projects. She has been fondly fascinated by Fine Arts and Architecture since her childhood days and has been pursuing the interest since then. She graduated with a Masters in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 2007. She also holds Master of City Planning from IIT, Kharagpur and Bachelor of Architecture from Indore, India. She is LEED AP and has extensively worked in varied size projects and organizations, both in India and here in United States in multitude of roles and responsibilities. Priya has strong inclination towards spirituality and likes to indulge in practices of yoga, meditation & reading, in her life outside work.

Max Ermolenko
Architectural Designer

Max Ermolenko graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1997 and worked many years in Moscow, Russia on different projects in different roles as an architect. His previous work includes, master plans, office remodeling, and residential architecture. His most valuable experience in designing is big classic style residential buildings on all stadiums through design, to construction documentation and construction site supervising. His personal preferences in architecture - simple things with good idea.

 

 

Laura Lang
Accountant

Laura is responsible for accounting and financial matters at William Maston Architect & Associates. She is a graduate of Santa Clara University, and has been with WMAA since June 2011. Laura brings her knowledge and experience in financial reporting, budget preparation, and business management to the team.

Brenda Garcia
Project Manager

Brenda joined WMAA as a Project Manager in February of 2017. She has over 10 years’ experience within the design & construction industry and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Architecture cum laude, and a participant in the Honors College. She then graduated from Santa Clara University with a Masters in Civil Engineering, Construction Management. Brenda started out doing small scale residential landscaping and layouts for franchises around the Houston area, then worked her way up to Tenant Improvement, in and around downtown Houston.

She has worked on projects in Texas with over one million square feet of mixed-use spaces (office/residential/retail/garage/lab), as well as planned community developments around the Bay Area.

In her spare time, you can find Brenda volunteer periodically teaching weekend classes at UCCE (University of California County Extension) as a Master Composter teaching about composting and recycling and energy uses, and helping to make lunches for the homeless at her place of worship.

 

Alexander (Alec) Huang
Architectural Draftsman

Alec has been an Architectural Draftsman with WMAA since June 2017. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors of Architecture and is currently working towards his CA Architect License.  Architecture has remained a constant interest of Alec's life, bisecting technical and creative aspects of design. He values the profession’s uniqueness and the opportunity to provide quality service. Alec hopes to help his mom rebuild her home one day.

 He enjoys the process of gaming as a hobby, and can be found exploring new and old games alike, especially those that stress deeper thinking and competitive value. Alec can also be found playing and volunteering in several sports.

Alec is also takes part in an amazing foundation called Ryan Phua Memorial Fund (Ryan's Fund. Ryan’s Fund was established through the LIVESTRONG Foundation to fund cancer-related programs to honor the memory of their late son who passed at just 2 ½ years old due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood and whose father is a cancer survivor.
