General Merchantville Store

This building is the oldest standing commercial building in Mountain View. It was originally built in 1887 and restoration was started in 2008. The current owners are concentrating on the preservation of the original front façade. During demolition in 2008, existing stucco and stone façade was removed to reveal the original detailing of the 1887 building, a wonderful treasure hidden behind stone. The original Wells Fargo Stage Coach Masonry Vault was also found. Renovations will continue through 2009.
